When we left off I was in the 16 bit era. Sega and Nintendo were at war. Mode 7 and Blast Processing were the weapons of each army. As the war raged on the hand held consoles were gaining a flanking advantage on both fronts. Sega and the colorful battery consuming Game Gear and all the different versions of the Gameboy. I was strongly taken to the green screen and Tetris would take my summers by storm. Nestled on my parents love seat early in the morning with my piping hot cup of tea. The tea though would be ice cold when I finally got to it though. Tetris had its grips on me. Mario took a close hard grasp on me as did final fantasy as well. But the inevitable happened and I had to give it back to my cousin. For some reason growing up I never got to town any of the hand held consoles though I borrowed many.

I had saved up for my first car. 1983 Toyota Camry LE high miles and low value. I paid cash for it and it felt amazing but for some reason it didn’t quite feel as good as when I drove myself out to the Video Game store and purchased a Playstation 1. Demo disc, single controller and console. I had to wait until funds grew to get the second controller but we were well rehearsed in pass the controller co-op so it wasn’t a big deal at the time. Spyro, MediEvil and Metal Gear Solid came along for the maiden voyage. After a while and a second controller later Driver 1 and Gran Turismo changed my driving game…
