2003 was a big year for my family. We had our first child, my son. New house, new job, new growing family. Life was in full swing, full speed ahead. My dad had decided it was time to move forward in the console world. I got the call, he was going to buy and XBOX. the OG XBOX. This was a big day. It was my dad, me and me son in the stroller in the game store as he was selecting his games. He had done his research and I was impressed. Of course the staple games like Halo Combat Evolved, Project Gotham Racing and Mech Assault. Again the machine came with a pack in demo disc and the fantastic double stacked Jet Set Radio Future and Sega GT 2002. I remember the moment he fired it up, navigated the menu, set the time and date and selected Halo Combat Evolved. Gaming changed forever again. The best experience in couch co-op we had ever experienced. We had smiles from ear to ear. Best of days.
Later that year I unwrapped my own. My parents bought me an XBOX. I had entered the new era of gaming. Vietnam ’67 was an amazing experience for me, a new level of army shooter. Rainbow Six 3 took my dad by storm. Disney games were amazing on this platform too. My wife and I spent hours playing Finding Nemo and Tetris. All the major players were making cameos on this platform. Star Wars, Halo, Forza, Need for Speed and so many more. My dad and I spent hours gaming. Enjoying…
